Risk management services in the construction, plant and renewable energy sectors.

The technological evolution of industrial activities and the increasingly sophisticated and complex nature of particular equipment and plants, have led to the conviction of grouping together in a specific insurance branch all the coverage needs for the damages to which these activities, or the single machines or plants, are exposed. In the past, these needs were scattered in various technical sectors in a dispersive way and not sufficiently aligned to the needs of the market.

FGIS is able to offer insurance solutions for the construction, plant engineering and IT sectors, with particular reference to:

  1. a) Manufacturer risks – Constructor’s All Risks – C.A.R. (from the construction of houses, to civil engineering works, to buildings);
  2. b) posthumous decennial;
  3. c) installation of plants – Erection All Risks (E.A.R.);
  4. d) real estate lease for different types of buildings;
  5. e) instrumental lease (excluding cars);
  6. f) machine failures;
  7. g) machinery failures indirect damage;
  8. h) instrument failures and damage to electronic software;
  9. i) photovoltaic, hydroelectric and wind power plants failure;
  10. j) advanced loss of profit (A.L.O.P.)

Constructor’s All Risks (CAR) and Erection All Risks (EAR)

Constructor’s All Risks (CAR) covers all the risks of civil construction (buildings, bridges, tunnels, highways, railways, dams, hospitals, etc.), while with Erection All Risks (EAR) policies it is possible to cover the risks related to assembly of plants and engineering works (refineries, paper mills, steel plants, furnaces, power stations, waste-to-energy plants, etc.).

Both these types of policy include cover for material damage to the work being built, happening to works and plants (including third party covers), to equipment and machinery existing on site, as well as demolition and clearing costs. A special section can also be provided with coverage of Third-Party Liability (TPL) an Employers Liability (EL).

Normally, this type of policy is offered for individual works or projects, but it is also possible to include them in a Convention, in which the various projects include contractors and clients, without the need to renew the policies each time entirely from scratch.
